ASSET PRESERVATION; MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Daly City, California / Multiple Buildings
This multi-family residential community faced a challenge common to many aging residential communities: how to preserve existing building assets, address deferred maintenance, and prioritize necessary repairs while minimizing disruption to residents.
The rehabilitation program focused on deteriorated deck structures throughout the complex. Working in collaboration, the architect, homeowners association, contractor, and consultants, evaluated existing conditions, identified repair priorities, and developed practical solutions that balanced durability, safety, cost, and constructability.
The result was a coordinated rehabilitation effort that extended the useful life of the structures, improved long-term performance, and helped preserve the value of the community’s physical assets.
